Colorado Center for Meteoritic Studies (CCMS) provides EPMA and INAA analysis and classification services for suspected meteorites at the microprobe lab at University of Colorado at Boulder.
EPMA – Electron microprobe analysis is appropriate for all suspected meteorites, except samples composed entirely of metal. The EPMA option is appropriate for suspected chondrite, achondrite, pallasite, mesosiderite, and primitive achondrite samples with at least some silicate material, even if they are mostly metal.
INAA – Neutron activation analysis is appropriate for suspected iron meteorites when the sample is made entirely of metal.
